Aveen advises clients on mergers and acquisitions, commercial contracts, data privacy, legal and regulatory compliance, and employment law. She also advises clients on legal policy and process development, as well as creating and managing internal legal teams. Licensed to practice law in New York and Ireland, Aveen has experience serving clients in several industries, including energy, aviation, and banking.

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE

  • Negotiating non-disclosure agreements, memoranda of understanding, letters of intent, stock purchase agreements, joint venture agreements, and other ancillary agreements for transactions across the U.S. and the EMEA region
  • Managing complex negotiations with clients and vendors to ensure data privacy compliance, and to secure data use rights across international borders
  • Negotiating a wide variety of commercial contracts, including master service agreements, bid documents, supply contracts, Software-as-a-Service (SAAS) agreements, intellectual property license agreements, and information protection agreements
  • Creating and revising policies, procedures, and agreements to comply with and address evolving requirements found in the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and similar statutes and regulations globally
  • Drafting a client’s FCPA (Foreign Corrupt Practices Act) policy
  • Overhauling and overseeing a leading U.S. investment bank’s vendor contract management processes
  • Performing anti-corruption due diligence on M&A targets
  • Performing U.S. Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) sanctions screening
